Role Overview

The Senior Staff Site Reliability Engineer - CDN & Networking at WP Engine will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation and optimization of our Content Delivery Network (CDN) and network infrastructure. This position entails collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain reliable, scalable, and efficient systems. Job Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage CDN architectures to optimize performance and reliability.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems for network services.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure best practices in network design and infrastructure management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues to minimize downtime and impact on users.
• Perform capacity planning and forecasting to ensure optimal resource allocation.
• Implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practices to streamline service deployments and updates.
• Establish and document standard operating procedures for network operations and maintenance.
• Advocate for and implement security best practices within the CDN and networking infrastructure.
• Participate in on-call rotations to address production incidents and ensure service reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering or a similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of CDN technologies and networking protocols.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and diagnose complex issues.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
