Position Overview

As a Senior Staff Site Reliability Engineer specializing in CDN and Networking at WP Engine, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of our content delivery network systems. Job Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development and product teams to troubleshoot complex networking issues and optimize CDN performance.
• Automate deployment and management processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual overhead.
• Conduct post-mortem analyses to understand failures and implement preventive measures.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in CDN and networking technologies, advocating for innovative solutions within the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Network Engineering, or a related discipline.
• In-depth understanding of CDN technologies, routing protocols, and network security principles.
• Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Go, or Bash for automation tasks.
• Strong experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) and incident management systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.

Technologies & Tools

The Senior Staff Site Reliability Engineer will utilize a variety of technologies and tools, including but not limited to cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), content delivery networks (CDN providers), networking technologies (BGP, DNS configurations), monitoring and alerting tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack), as well as CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
