Job Overview

The Senior Staff Site Reliability Engineer - CDN & Networking at WP Engine will play a vital role in ensuring the performance, availability, and scalability of our services. Job Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain robust CDN architecture to optimize resource delivery.
• Collaborate with software engineering and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of CDN services into existing platforms.
• Monitor system performance and reliability, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
• Conduct capacity planning and performance analysis to ensure sufficient resources are allocated to meet demand.
• Develop and deploy automation scripts to streamline operations and improve service reliability.
• Establish and enforce best practices for Incident Management and Postmortem processes.
• Lead initiatives for network security, ensuring compliance with best security practices and policies.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation within the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
• 7+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Networking, or a related technical field.
• Proficiency in network protocols, CDN architecture, and DNS management.
• Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Solid understanding of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
• Experience with scripting and programming languages such as Python, Go, or Bash.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
