Salary: Up to $70,000 annually, depending on experience

Position Overview

An established organization in Jacksonville is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant or Senior Accountant to join its accounting team.

This position is ideal for an accounting professional with strong general ledger experience, hands-on revenue recognition knowledge, and an interest in accounting systems and process improvements.

The organization has recently transitioned to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, offering an opportunity to work with updated accounting technology while contributing to financial reporting, month-end close, and overall accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries as part of the month-end close process.
• Perform general ledger and balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Manage revenue recognition activities, including related journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Maintain accounting schedules for accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets.
• Review account activity, investigate discrepancies, and perform variance analysis.
• Assist with financial reporting and preparation of audit documentation.
• Support accounting operations and reporting within the company's accounting systems.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, workflows, and reporting accuracy.
• Assist with special accounting projects and other responsibilities as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree specifically in Accounting is required.
• Strong hands-on general ledger accounting experience, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Direct experience with revenue recognition accounting is required.
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Jacksonville during the initial training period.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and/or JobDiva.
• Experience with other accounting systems or ERP platforms, including Microsoft Dynamics GP/Great Plains.
• Corporate accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Exposure to public-company accounting, audits, or SEC reporting.
• Experience with accounting system implementations, migrations, or process improvements.
• CPA certification or progress toward CPA licensure.
• Advanced Excel, Power BI, or accounting automation experience.

Prior accounting system implementation experience is beneficial but not required.
