What it is
EACC clearance is not a certificate. You hand in EACC's Self-Declaration Form, and EACC sends the employer a confidential report on every shortlisted applicant. (eacc.go.ke)
EACC stamps your copy of the form: that copy is your acknowledgement. (eacc.go.ke)
Who asks for it
Public bodies in Kenya ask for clearances under Chapter Six of the Constitution. The National Police Service Commission's January 2025 advert, for example, asked shortlisted candidates for manager posts and above for clearance certificates from KRA, HELB, EACC, CRB and DCI. (npsc.go.ke)
How to get it
Fill in the Self-Declaration Form in two copies. The form can be downloaded from EACC's website. (eacc.go.ke)
Attach copies of your ID card or passport, your KRA PIN certificate and your academic certificates (high school, diploma, degree). (eacc.go.ke)
Sign it in front of a Commissioner for Oaths or a Magistrate. (eacc.go.ke)
Where to go
Hand it in yourself, or have someone drop it off, at EACC's head office at Integrity Centre in Nairobi, any EACC regional office or any Huduma Centre. EACC's form page says not to send it online. (eacc.go.ke)
Be careful
Giving EACC false information is an offence under section 46(1)(d) of the Leadership and Integrity Act, 2012: a fine of KSh 5 million, 5 years in prison, or both. (eacc.go.ke)
