Unemployment benefit
Who can get it. Employees (not the self-employed) aged 16 to 63 (65 if not entitled to a statutory pension) who meet the insurance conditions, are registered as job-seekers and as unemployed, and are capable of and available for work.
How much. Basic benefit of 60% of the weekly value of the insurance points in basic insurance in the relevant contribution year (80%, 90% or 100% with 1, 2 or 3 dependants), plus a supplementary benefit of 50% of the weekly value of the insurance points in supplementary insurance.
For how long. Not exceeding 156 days in each period of unemployment, paid from the 4th day of unemployment.
How to claim. Register with the Public Employment Service as a job-seeker and sign the unemployment register at the district social insurance office.
