Percent or new pay

Type the raise as a percent to see the new pay, or the new pay to see what percent it is. A $50,000 salary with a 4% raise is $52,000: $2,000 more a year, or $76.92 more a paycheck paid every two weeks.

Comparing a job offer

An offer from another employer is a raise too. Type your pay now and the offer as the new pay, then weigh what else changes: the hours, the commute, health insurance, paid time off.

Prices rise too

A raise smaller than the rise in prices over the same time buys less than before. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics publishes that rise each month as the Consumer Price Index.

Before taxes

Every figure here is gross pay, before taxes and anything else taken out. The raise in your paycheck will be smaller than the raise in your salary.

What jobs like yours pay
