Time Card Calculator: Timesheet Hours and Pay
Type when you clocked in and out each day and your breaks. See your hours, your overtime and the week's pay.
How it is worked out
Each day is the time from clock-in to clock-out less the unpaid break. A day from 9:00 to 5:30 with a 30-minute lunch is 8 hours, so five of them are 40. A clock-out earlier than the clock-in is taken as after midnight, as for a night shift.
Hours and minutes, or hours
Payroll often wants hours as a decimal: 7 hours 45 minutes is 7.75 hours, because 45 minutes is three quarters of an hour. The total shows both.
Overtime
The U.S. Department of Labor says that, unless exempt, employees covered by the Fair Labor Standards Act must receive overtime pay for hours worked over 40 in a workweek at a rate not less than time and one-half their regular rates of pay. Some states also count overtime by the day; set the hours to your own rule.
Breaks
Type only breaks you are not paid for, such as a lunch you clock out for. Short paid breaks count as hours worked.
