How much unemployment pays in Georgia, and for how long

The most you can get is $365 a week and the least is $55. Benefits last up to 26 weeks.

The weekly amount is based on wages in the base period. The maximum number of weeks ranges from 14 to 26, set by the statewide unemployment rate when the claim is filed; total benefits are the lesser of that number of weeks times the weekly amount or one-fourth of base period wages.

How many jobs you must apply for each week

Georgia asks for 3 new reportable job contacts a week. Contacts must be with employers not contacted before, unless GDOL exempts you.

Submit three verifiable contacts online or by fax as part of the weekly certification, and keep a detailed record (date, company, method, result); GDOL audits work search.
